I never know just who I’m going to run across when doing these airchecks… Killabrew, featured here on 94-9 Zeta “South Florida’s New Rock Alternative”, was also in Memphis at WMFS “93X” sometime before my tenure in the WMC-TV/AM/FM complex that housed MFS.
Here’s a station that really rocks, and for those of you who remember the good ole’days of Alternative radio – here it is, with all the major acts one would remember hearing; Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Offspring and more!
This station is the former WINZ “I95” CHR station, which met with much success back in the 1980s. Prior to that, WINZ, beginning in 1975, was a progressive Rock station and ironically, called itself “Zeta 4” – so, the ZETA of 1987-2005 was simply the original Zeta – reborn.
Today, the station is Spanish WMGE “Mega 94.9”.
