770 New York, The Music's On Us 1977

Ron Lundy

Courtesy of Contributor Steven Green, here’s an excellent quality recording of the legendary Ron Lundy, just being himself on 77 WABC. It may be 1980, but WABC is still the top 40 station everyone grew up with. That would change later in the year with the addition of Yankees baseball, which displaced night driver Howard Hoffman, and later in 1980, the format morphed into soft Adult Contemporary. But on this tape, the reverb is still present, and the rock hits from Blondie, etc. are still in rotation!

Listen now, to what very well may be the last tape of the final days of Top 40 MusicRadio 77 WABC. And the rest, as they say, is history Ron Lundy at his best!
