As of this writing, there’s one more aircheck of Mr. Birch on Y100 and its got all the energy you’ve come to expect! Its amazing that FM took over the Miami market so early in the 1970s, but given how these airchecks sound, one would expect FM to triumph even at that stage of the evolution of FM broadcasting!

I’m not sure that there’s much I can write that either hasn’t been said, or can’t be heard from this great recording! Just listen and enjoy. Meanwhile, I’ll pull out the remaining airchecks from the tape this came from, YOU get ready to hear some fantastic radio!

I’m not sure if this is easy and fun to recall, or a hard event…..I had no idea you climbed to the top of the totem pole…congrats!!! love this quick and too short review, Tom….congrats on your incredible career!!! and to think, you were a cv guy who began in the Binghamton, ny radio scene…simply incredible…love the energy….what’s happened to radio these days?
