Thanks to Patrick of the Aircheck Traders board at Radioinsight, we have a virgin aircheck of this mid-Summer midday show on WLS! This is an original, complete with commercials for 1975 and the scoped hits from artists like Queen, the Carpenters and Elton John! Oh, to be in the Windy City with WLS!

  1. Thanks for sharing such a great aircheck of the big 89, I really loved the reverb! Super trip down memory lane…Thanks for sharing.

  2. Musicradio WLS was one of the great stations ever, like a KHJ, Los Angeles or KFRC, San Francisco. WLS had a great sound (love that reverb), and personalities. I love those contest winners’ drops. WLS (musicradio) was a great station and Tommy Edwards was one of the reasons why.

  3. Good stuff. A Sunday morning. The aircheck represnts 45 minutes of the 11am hour (11:00-11:45am) and 12 songs were played! 5 of those songs had intros :03 or shorter forcing Tommy to utilize the outros of the previous song to get his rap down.

4 stopsets, none longer than 2 minutes….with jingles between commercials. Every stopset had an ad for a soda pop.

Of the 12 songs on the aircheck 3 were oldies, 1 could be considered a recurrent by this time (Band On The Run)

Shotgun jingles between every song. Everything was so quick and concise.

    Good stuff.
